MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANICS

1.0          1.O TRANSPORT SECTOR

We all know that,  the roles of vehicles (private cars, buses, delivery vans, lories even bodabodas) in the transport   sector cannot be overemphasized, that is why we are  witnessing  every year the  number of importation of vehicles keeps on increasing.  The big number of vehicles in the country,  is not only doing the needful to the transport  sector but also providing  reliable employment opportunities  to youth who have skills on  repair,  service and maintenance of these vehicles. Future World, has an opportunity to  youth  who wish to join our long or  short courses on this occupation which eventually will ensure them both self and wage employment  .

2.0 ABOUT THIS  OCCUPATION

Motor  Vehicle  Mechanics  is  an  occupation  essentially  dealing  with  knowledge  and  skills  of  diagnosing  malfunctions  and  repairing  Automobiles  to  standards  of  safe  operation.  Motor Vehicle Mechanics  usually  covers  fundamental  principles  of  all  aspects  of  vehicles  including  recent  computerized  and  electronic  systems  which  require  special  knowledge  to  work  on.

To  become  a  Certified  Motor  Vehicle  Mechanic,  one  must  have  an  excellent  working  knowledge,  skills  and  attitudes  of  motor  vehicles  necessary  for  carrying  out  professional  tasks,  after  successfully  completing  training  in  the  three  levels  namely I, II, and III.  

 

3.0  AIMS  AND  OBJECTIVES  OF  THE  COURSE  

AIM:  The  aim  of  the  course  is  to  provide  with  necessary  knowledge, skills  and  right  attitudes  to  people  who  want  to  become  Motor  Vehicle  Mechanics  to  meet  the  employment  opportunities  requirements  of  the  labour  market  in  both  formal  and  informal  sectors.

 

 OBJECTIVES:  At   the  end  of  the  course,  the  trainee  should  be  able  to;

                     A]  Maintain  safety  rules  and  regulations  at  the  work  place.

                     B]  Use  tools  and  equipment.

                     C]  Diagnose  motor  vehicle  faults.

                     D] Interpret  diagnostic  codes.

                     E] Test  engine  systems.

                     F]  Manage  engine  shop  activities  etc.

4.0  ENTRY  QUALIFICATIONS

The  minimum  entry  qualifications  in  the  course  are;   

                      LEVEL 1:  The  trainee  should  have  obtained  O level  Secondary  education  with  at least two passes 2 Ds.

                      LEVEL 2:  The  trainee  should  have  attained  a  minimum  CBET  performance  Grade C  in  Level  I  Motor  Vehicle  Mechanics.

5.0  OUTCOME  AFTER  LEARNING  THE  COURSE 

The  Student  after  pursuing  this  course  has  a  wider  range  of  Employment  opportunities  in  both  public  and  private  sectors.

                    e]  Automotive  industries etc.

2]  PRIVATE  SECTOR

                     a]  Self  employment

6.0  EXIT  FOR  THE  STUDENTS  AFTER  COMPLETING  THE  COURSE

After  a  successful  completion  of  the  course, a  student  will  be  competent  and  possess  the  ability  to;

a] Maintain  workshop  tools  and  equipment

b] Carry out  general  vehicle  services

c] Service  wheels  and  tyres

d] Service  brake  systems

e] Carry out  general  maintenance  on  electrical  and  electronic  systems.

 

6. REGISTRATION

You can collect application forms to join at Future World on this course on November and December for the January intake of the following year OR  on May and June for the July intake.  All form four leavers with at least two D passes can apply to join with this  two years program for level II and another year for level III.

Short of Our History

Since 1997 Future World was authorized to conduct driving courses through Future World Driving School, a training wing of Future World Vocational Institute which is registered and regulated by Traffic Police Department of Tanzania Police Force.The trainings conducted are in two categories; the trainings that enable trainees to qualify for ordinary driving licences and trainings that lead to qualify for advanced driving license. Future World Driving School is the only private driving school which is licensed to conduct driving courses for Heavy Duty Vehices (HDV) and Public Service Vehicles (PSV).
